Building a Custom Catalog Integration

To start leveraging Merchstack's product discovery platform, you first need to setup a connection between Merchstack and your data provider. This is typically a commerce platform, a PIM, or a CMS, but can be anywhere you store your catalog data. Merchstack will import data from these providers and then publish enriched data for use in the same or other downstream systems.

The data Merchstack needs might look different depending on your use case. Typically, products and categories are two of the primitives required to start using Merchstack. You may also send Merchstack pricing and inventory data as part of your integration.

As your teams use Merchstack, your datasets will become enriched and you'll then want to get that data back into your system to build powerful customer experiences.

For customers using Merchstack's APIs in a headless architecture to power their storefront experiences directly, there will be additional steps required to complete the integration. We will be releasing additional documentation and guides for this soon.
