Tenants

Merchstack is a multi-tenant platform. That means that multiple tenants sit on the same deployment of Merchstack. A tenant is effectively the highest level of organization within Merchstack. Within a tenant, various teams may have access to specific stores and capabilities through tenant-level users, roles, and permissions.

As an example, let's say a company called Sabre owns a number of different brands, one of which is a paper company called Dunder Mifflin. Sabre would typically be the tenant in Merchstack, and Dunder Mifflin, along with the other brands, would each be a store.

Your tenant is also an important part of integrating with Merchstack, as this forms part of how you identify yourself when performing operations.

Your Merchstack Customer Success Manager will typically create your tenant during the onboarding process.
